Well what is a plastic surgeon, really? The word is actually from Greek plastikos, which means to form or to mold or to give shape to something. Think of Dustin Hoffman in the graduate and he’s got this one word he says: plastics. What they mean is that you can take something that’s liquid, you put it in a form, almost like an ice cube, and when it dries, when it’s finished, it has shape to it. That’s really what plastic surgery does. That’s what we do as plastic surgeons. It’s not that we open a drawer and take something out made out of plastic and put it into someone’s chin or put it into someone’s body, but it’s that we give the shape and the form and the molding in the way that the person desires. I hope that that answers the question. It’s a pleasure talking to you. I’m Dr. Lawrence Koplin.
