It’s interesting when you meet patients in the morning the often say, oh it’s so nice to meet you, you’re the most important person in the operating room, doing the anesthesia, and I tell them that’s not true; they’re the most important person in the operating room and it’s my job to keep everybody focused on that fact. We’re there for their safety, and we’ve put together this team, and we’ve perfected these techniques, for them. And so that’s flattering when they say that about the anesthesia provider; nothing could be further from the truth. The patient is the focus.
