Patients don’t just meet anesthesia the morning of surgery sitting in the hallway. We have a great team of nurses and a surgeon who look at your paperwork and do multiple workups so that all the questions and if there’re any unanswered questions we have a team of expert consultants and cardiovascular surgery, oncology, and so many other subspecialties that we fall upon to get us more information so that when it comes time for your surgery you’re really well prepared. I speak to every patient the night before surgery. I’ve already reviewed all your information and I take that time to get to know you and let you get to know me so that when we meet in the morning we’re already off to a good start. When you get here in the morning I’m here from the minute you walk in the door until you leave. I do a very thorough anesthesia and physical history with you and we spend some time privately in the morning so that –unrushed– you can talk and tell me everything that I need to know and that I can tell you everything that you need to know so that there won’t be any tricks or surprises for anybody
